1 week, Fleece Vs Bedding – what do you think?

Okay, had a idea for a video. I will switch 1 cage to fleece and keep the others on bedding and show you the differences. I will show you how often they need to be cleaned and changed out and when they start to smell etc. Like this video if you want me to do this so I can get an idea. I will do like a vlog every day showing you each cage etc!

That’s a good idea. Have you tried to litter train them? Mine are now litter trained and my fleece now doesnt need changing for a whole week (i also have washable bed pads under it so the fleece never gets soggy anyway.) I was using carefresh in my litter trays but the UK prices are so dear!! Ive now ordered a sack of megazorb to try.

ive been thinking about getting fleece, I have sawdust atm but its quite messy, my piggies some how manage to kick it out of their cage and onto the floor xD how are you getting on with converting your piggies food? hope it works as well as it did with my piggies x

Yes please do it! I really enjoy your videos and thanks to you I’ve made a little C&C cage for my guinea pig and I want to make it bigger later. ^^ I’ve put fleece for now, but I don’t know if I’ll change for woods… Your next video will certainly help me! =)

I would love to see a vid like this, you’re such a great source of information for me and my piggles! We modeled our new C&C cage off of yours (with the separate kitchen so they have more space to run and such), so I would love to see more!

It is a good idea, but are you going to use towels underneath the fleece? I know last time you used it you never did as your cage was very big and alot of towels etc. But the fleece method means that you need something underneath it to soak up the urine. So you will need to put the towels(2 layers or mre is best) for it to be completely fair. cant wait to see what you think of it (:

As someone else mentioned you’ll need towels (Or matress pads with high cotton content) underneath the fleece for the wicking to work. With no absorbing layer underneath, the pee will have nowhere to go & will just build up while making the fleece soggy. Which means ammonia build up as well as the bacteria and smell.

And proper fleece that has been washed three times without fabric softener. One layer of fleece only. Awesome idea if done properly!

@MoneyMakesMeRICH Gus managed to jump over and got attacked so I seperated the cages just in case. He was in bad shape when I got home from work – poor thing. I have to seperate them as they do not get along

hi, i tried a lot of beddings and cost tons of $ everyweek.. so i decided to use fleece, i made one for my piggies which is very awesome and no amonia build ups. saves me money and time cleaning..just clean the cage twice a day and make sure they have litter pan where they can pee so they dont pee much on the fleece. you can check my video “New 8ft. I luv any of your video’s, i am just learning, we got my 9 yr.old a guinea pig, we have fell madly im love with him, but he is alone and I was wondering, should I get one more for him to have a buddy, what do you think Laura, I totally trust what you say, because as we all can see you know everything about them. we love piggiepigpigs!!!!

i am using fleece for a long time and i have no problem with the odor and amonia build up, i bought my fabrics online by yard according to my cage size 8ftx3ft. , i ordered terry cloth and fleece on top of it, sew it together. i clean my piggy cage twice a day, little hand vacuum is more helpful when cleaning, i wash my fleece every 2 weeks, spray some water with a little vinegar mixture for ceaning c&c. and also some scented candles will help freshen up the area. it’s a routine i do everyday.

Hi Piggiepigpigs, I switched to fleece about a month ago and it really doesn’t get smelly.All I really need now is a C&C cage for 2 piggies.Hopefully I get one for Easter!!!!

WAIT SO MY PIGGY CAN GET SICK WITHOUT TOWELS UNDRRNEATH!!!!! BECAUSE WE HAVE THIS PLASTIC LIKE TABLECLOTH UNDERNEATH OURS AND THE PEE FALLS ONTO THAT!!
